Background
I was raised and educated in Shawnee. I have practiced law for over three years.
Education and Experience
I am a graduate of Shawnee High School, and I received my B.A. from the University of Oklahoma where I was a member of the OU Scholars program. I received my J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College Of Law, where I was a class representative, on the Dean’s Council, and a member of the SBA Board of Governors. After graduating from law school, I worked as an associate attorney with Canavan & Associates PLLC in Shawnee, OK. I joined the firm and was made partner in 2009.
Practice Concentrations
My practice is focused on general civil litigation, family law, estate and professional planning, mediation, and municipal law.
Bar and Civic Activities
I currently serve as the District Eight Representative for the YLD Board of Directors, am on the Community Service Committee, am a volunteer for the Oklahoma Bar Foundation Mock Trial Program, attended the 2007 OBA Leadership Conference, and was recently selected as a delegate to the 2009-2010 OBA Leadership Academy. I am a member of the Pottawatomie County Bar Association and have served as President since 2007, a member of the American Bar Association, and a Fellow of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation. In 2008, I received the District 5 Child Abuse Prevention Task Force “Child Advocate of the Year” Award. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the OU Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and am involved with charities such as the Children’s Miracle Network.
